Review : Earlier the Odisha Food stall at Delhi Haat was one of the few destinations for authentic Odia food in the Capital City. But unfortunately it was closed in the year 2018 due to its commercial non-viability and several other issues. Now we are glad that the Jagannath Temple Management Committee of Tyagraj Nagar has taken initiatives to revive and reopen it. Now it is for us, the lovers of Odia foods, to make it viable. When we visited the stall it was late in the afternoon and it was not lunch time. So we sampled some of the typical Odia snacks available there, such as Aloo Chop, Chhena Poda and Rasagola. It had an authentic Odia taste. The Food Stall serves both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian kind of menu. A "Pakhal Kansa" option is also available in the menu which includes Pakhal, Bharta, Badichura, Saga, and Bhaja etc. A dish of Rohi fish prepared in the traditional Odia way is an added attraction. Pitifully the Food Stall also offers some non-Odia dishes. Understandably this is to make the venture viable, because they don't have many seekers of Odia food at the stall. Now it is for us the lovers of Odia cuisine in Delhi to patronize it and prove that a business based solely on typical Odia foods may be really sustainable.
